Shirley Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, Shirley A. (Dunn) Shirley A. (Dunn) Johnson, 73, of Reservoir Road, Killingworth, wife of Harold Johnson, died on Thursday, (February 15, 2006) at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Middletown she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy (Hitchcock) Dunn and lived in Killingworth since 1989. She was a unit secretary at Middlesex Hospital and Meriden/Wallingford Hospital for over 20 years; and loved her grandchildren, her pet cats, going to the beach and traveling to warm climates. She is survived by two sons, Steven Johnson of Killingworth and Jon Johnson of Glastonbury; three daughters, Karen James and her husband Edward of Westminster, MD, Susan Johnson of Killingworth, and Nancy Johnson of Middletown; and nine grandchildren, Dana, Charlie, Katherine, James, Alicia, Matt, Brittany, Brendan and Michael. Funeral services will be held at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church St., Middletown on Tuesday, February, 20th at 10 am. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492. Nancy and family,

I am very sorry for your loss. You know that she is in a "better" place, but that is so hard to accept since your grief is so strong for her right now. Just cherish the memories and always keep her close to your heart. Take care and be well.
