McCARTHY, Helen (Foley) Helen (Foley) McCarthy, 92, of Newington, died peacefully Saturday, (March 10, 2007) at the McLean Home, Simsbury. She was the beloved wife of the late Cecil McCarthy. Born in West Hartford, daughter of the late Edward W. and Sarah (Scully) Foley, she was a Newington resident for many years. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Church, Newington. She was employed by the Law Office of Courtney, Sullivan, Mansfield and Ripley. An accomplished painter, she participated in numerous art shows. Helen is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Fred Jones; three grandchildren, Scott, Christopher and Pamela Jones and four great-grandchildren. Helen's funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9:15 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Private burial will take place in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, from 4-7 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
