I remember Chris from High School. He bought a surf board of mine. For some reason I was thinking about him and just found out he passed away 17 yrs ago.

Every year for the last 13 years since we lost you, something unthinkably bad happens in March. Maybe this year, after 13 years, the curse will finally be lifted and you will rest easy as you wait for us all to join you one day in heaven. You were loved and you are loved and you will be loved.

We think about you all the time, especially this time of year. This weekend I planted my garden and thought about you and all the questions Id ask you about it. You are missed friend.

I had planned on visiting Harold's this Sunday to buy flowers to plant in our new yard. Just realized that on Sunday it will have been 9 years since you left. We think of you often, especially in the Springtime, when the flowers begin to bloom.

I'm still growing those tillandsias - enough now to decorate a huge straw gardner's hat in time for Easter! We miss your smiling face Chris.

March has never been a good month... Julius Caesar was killed... Divine died... and Chris, well.. you know what happened to you... I hope in heaven there is no month of March... and that we just get to have the good months... Miss you, friend.

Chris... i was reading through some poetry from two years ago when it dawned on me that it has been exactly two years since that devastating morning. My tears are yours. You were a good friend and I miss you very much.

Chris
Your aunt Pat reminded me this morning of your wonderful presence. You are so missed - and yes, it is so hard to believe that two years have gone by without you in our mortal lives. But one day soon, we shall all meet again in glorious gardens beyond our comprehension and grasp.

It seems impossible that 2 years have now passed since you left us.
I can never erase from my mind that horrible morning two years ago.
But, knowing that you are in a happier place and with family who have gone on before you does give a sense of comfort in accepting your not being here. I imagine you laughing and talking with Daddy, Aunt Harriet, Your Grandfather Bonnet, and all the others who loved you, and are now enjoying your company.
We love you and thank you for the gift of time we had with you here. Until we meet again.
Love,
Aunt Pat

Chris had a huge heart and was incredibly loyal to his friend and family. He had voracious mind that was always seeking new knowledge. From his recent interest in Norm Chompski (on his iPod) to reading the extended LBJ biography, he always looked for new ways to grow. He brought joy to the lives of all the people that knew him. The beautiful gardens that he made still grace the streets of New Orleans and stand as a testament to his skill with all things that grow. We all miss you terribly and you will stay with us.

It's almost been a year now buddy. You know, I can still see you outside, sitting on the front porch, playing your guitar; I can still hear you laugh. I miss our cigarette and beer breaks. I miss not being able to talk to you about our Saints team. As you might expect, New Orleans hasn't changed much. I wish you were here to see it. I miss you. I love you.

Dearest Chris, August 26th has come and gone, the day you would have been 31. When Trey and Jeffrey called to wish their dad a happy birthday, they both said, "You know, today would have been Chris' 31st birthday." We miss you so much, speak of you often, and continue to hold you in our hearts with love.

Today was a perfect day in New Orleans. The sun was warm, but the humidity was low - a wonderful day for emersing one's self in the garden. I could not help but to think of Chris and how he would so much love a day like today. A rare day in our hot, subtropical climate. I could see Chris' smiling face gleaming in the light...
As guests entered the Upper Portico Terrace, they were asked to sign the Guest Register and view the memory boards.

The family of Christopher Bozeman
May 7, 2006
A memorial service and celebration of Christopher's life was held on the Upper Portico Terrace Garden on Saturday, April 22, at Longue Vue Gardens in New Orleans. (This garden is being maintained by contributions of friends and family to Longue Vue Gardens in Christopher's memory.)
Photo boards depicting some of the things he loved were displayed, and beautiful memorial brochures were made by his first cousin, Michelle Jones Carstens.
Loving words were read in eulogy, a prayer of remembrance was recited, and friends and loved ones expressed their thoughts and memories of Chris.
Unbeknownst to the family members during the planning of this memorial, April 22 was Earth Day 2006. What more befitting a day to remember Chris?
One of Chris' foreign clients who was in attendance told us that Christopher was unlike most Americans he met, possessing a more European flair for life.
Many of Chris' former co-workers and some of the contractors in his business were in attendance. The family thanks them for their presence and the memories they shared.
Many of Chris' friends were there, too, and we thank each one of them for being with us on this day of remembrance.
There were many people who knew and loved Christopher that came together on this day to honor him.
We thank our friends and extended family for their support during this difficult time of loss. Their words of love and encouragement will not be forgotten.

Chris was such a wonderful person in so many ways. He was caring, generous, quick to forgive, and always ready to laugh. He taught me so much, and the time I spent with him will forever stay with me. Chris, you are loved and missed.

HEAVENLY BOUQUET
Life is like a flower.
The beginning a small bud of mystery,
not knowing the beauty of the world.
Through the storms and rain,
the bloom grows toward the heavens.
When the time is right and the sun shines bright,
the flower opens wide.
You see, Chris was, to me, like a beautiful flower
that God picked before it would wilt.
Chris is in my garden when the wind blows lightly
through the leaves and flowers.
Chris is in my heart, welded in place forever.
Written and read for Chris' memorial service on Earth Day 2006.

My times with Chris were few but meaningful. Chris was a wonderful person to spend time with and I'll always cherish those moments. I've always felt like I was a part of the Bozeman family and I truly feel for your loss. Farewell, Chris.
Destin 1999 - One of our annual traditions in Destin is dinner at the Tops'l Ocean Club. Chris and his Uncle B shared a common birthday of August 26, so we always liked to get a picture of these two together.

Destin 1999 - Not only were they cousins, they were also great friends! Chris was only six weeks older than Jeff, and these two shared many good times together.

Destin 1999 - Christopher and his guitar were quite the normal. He would both entertain us with his music as well as derive great personal pleasure just sitting and strumming.

Dearest Chris,
Our family has been blessed and enriched by having you in our lives for the past 30 years. I only wish you could have been with us another 60 or 70 years at least.
The happy, fun times, your beautiful spirit and kind and considerate nature added an irreplaceable dimension to our lives.
But short, too short has your presence been with us. We will forever keep you close to our hearts and remember always the dear, dear nephew we love.
Your Louisiana Mom,
Aunt Pat
p.s. I'm trying to make my "black thumb" green and keep the beautiful garden you planted in front of my house as lush and full of blooms as it has been since you created it with your magic.

our mouths full of sing songs
with a friend who laughs
and laughs

Christopher and Chef Paul Prudhomme. This is a pic Chris e-mailed many of us on 12/11/05. He loved his city and liked to photograph it. He said he just "bumped into" Chef and asked if he could take his picture with him. That was Chris!

Chris, with such a kind soul and awesome knowledge and love for nature. I feel so lucky to have met you. I'll never forget the drive we made to New Orleans after the storm when we were so unsure about everything. Mike and I enjoyed our time with you and we always looked forward to seeing you. It makes me so sad to think that your time here was so brief. We miss you so much and you will remain in our hearts forever.

The Morning Garden
The morning garden has a still, windless peace.
So much life abounding within, yet hardly to believe -
All the living waxen, save an early bee
Whose beauty best beheld at far to not its noisome sting.
There is magic too within this life
For once the Winter has come and gone
This morning garden lives.

You left us so quickly; there was no time to say goodbye. The hearts of those who loved you so feel too empty now, for that is the place in which you dwelled. Our hope is that the sadness abiding in that empty space may one day be filled with only sweet memories of you. You will be forever missed, dearest nephew, and our family is now forever changed.
