Valerie McCrea Obituary

McCREA, VALERIE ANN
Valerie Ann McCrea, 38, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving husband, Chris McCrea, and her three precious sons, Ryan, 7, Gavin, 6, and Tyler, 2, her parents Nancy and Richard Sloan, her sister Julie Theule, and her brothers Jeff and Paul Sloan. Val was born October 23, 1968 in Cleveland, Ohio, a precious baby girl, to her adoring parents, Richard and Nancy Sloan. When Val was 2, her family moved to Escondido, California, and Val has lived in southern California since. Val attended Juniper Elementary School, where she was soon recognized as the high-energy, smiling little girl, who loved all of her friends. Val enjoyed learning to play the violin as a child, and attended Emmanuel Faith Church with her family. During her junior high days at Del Dios Middle School, she excelled in soccer, running and track. Val was becoming the incredible athlete that she continued to be throughout her life. Val attended Orange Glen High School where she excelled in athletics, cheerleading, the dance team, and having fun. She spent her summers working and attending summer camp at Hume Lake. Val attended San Diego State and graduated in 1993, with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Science. Val met her soulmate, Chris, in 1991, and they married in January, 1996. Val and Chris loved snow skiing, biking, running, and wake-boarding. Val and Chris soon became the parents of baby Ryan, followed by Gavin and Tyler. Val considered being a mommy to these three special little boys her most important role in life. Val also was successful in her role as a home health care sales representative first at Coram and later at Option Care. After her sons began attending The Valley Christian School, Val enjoyed becoming a part of the "Mom's in Touch" group, where she developed so many loving friendships. During her eighteen month illness, Val faced every day with the "grace" and caring that she displayed throughout her life. We will miss her so very much, and rejoice that she has returned home to the Lord, as she begins her eternal life. Services 2:30 p.m., on Friday, April 20th, Emmanuel Faith Church, Escondido, California. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com

Chris - You have our deepest sympathies. I still can't believe that Val is gone. It doesn't seem real, and it makes me so sad. She brought joy into so many people's lives with her smile and big heart, and I'm sure that has not changed in heaven. Please know that we are praying for you and the boys and thinking of you often.

Yesterday's memorial was not only a beautiful tribute to a life lived well, but also an opportunity for people to have the assurance Val had of Heaven by givng their lives to Christ. What a blessing!! Your family is such an example of and a witness to Christ's love and grace. May He give you everything you need to continue on life's journey.
With love, The Castillero Family.

With deepest, heartfelt sympathy, we pray for your comfort during this time. She was a special girl indeed; full of love, laughter and compassion. Her love of the Lord was was extrodinary. It was evident in her eyes, her smile and in all that she did here on earth. Her spirt will live on through her boys and she will continue to touch their lives in many ways......forever.
