Burton Mazer Obituary
Burton Mazer, 76, passed away on April 24, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. He was married for 56 years to his childhood sweetheart Phyllis, and will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched. Burton was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons Stuart (Susan), Bruce (Sandra), and Ted (Marcy), and his six grandchildren, as well as by his sister. He worked for 32 years for the Defense Department, moving from New York to San Diego in 1979 to lead the General Dynamics Government Audit Office. In retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively, and Burt worked with the Escondido Police Volunteer Patrol. He was active with the Escondido Republican Club, Rancho Bernardo Chapter of NARF, three RV groups, and Ner Tamid Synagogue. Donations may be sent to Ner Tamid Synagogue, 15318 Pomerado Rd., Poway, CA 92064; or to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 9655 Granite Ridge Rd., Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92123.
