I had the pleasure of filling Terry's shoes upon his retirement from the Marine Corps. We have had a casual relationship through the years since our first meeting...bumping into each other here and there every so often. We always intended to get together more regularly. But how often do we say that? I'll miss Terry and wish his family well.

Ramona,
I got to know Terry when he volunteered to teach CCD. Terry was
very dedicated to his work and the
children. Even though we provided
snacks, you could always see Terry
with his pink box of doughnuts for
his class. He always wanted something special for his kids. His
students will always remember him as
a very loving person, as well as the
tours he took them on of the church,
and the Stations of the Cross.

Mona,
I knew your husband for over 23 years so I have a lot of memories of him. His passing has left a hole in my heart. He was very special to both me and my kids. He made single parenthood bareable. His impact on CTK, St. Patrick's, St. Mark's, Peter Claver can not be measured. I'm sure Stan, Dave, Norm, and Terry are dancing in heaven right now.

Ramona, my prayers and deepest sympathy to you and your family. I am forever grateful to you and Terry for all you both did for me when Norm was sick and at his passing. I know that Norm, Dave and Stan walk their brother Terry over and thru the light. You can bet they are showing him all around heaven and telling him about the great joy and time he is about to have. Ramona as you walk around your home and enter the doors of CTK, know that God is taking good care of Terry and he is so proud to have another solider for Christ home with him. Be bless and at peace for the love you and Terry have will never be lost. He will be forever remembered and I am so thankful I had the chance to talk with him this pass January when I was home. Take care and we all send our love and prayers to you and your family.

Terry,
My condolences to your family and friends. You served your family, coworkers, church, community, and country with boundless energy and unconditional love. Your impact was demonstrated by the outpouring of love at informal and formal memorial celebrations throughout the USA. The Christ the King Catholic Church memorial celebration in San Diego CA was extremely well done and we learned even more about the extent of your love and influence. As PLATO (427-437 BC) noted: “The soul of man is immortal and imperishable”. Terry, you most definitely have soul, and may your immortal soul sustain those in need. Keep on smiling good friend. As I called The Altar Society church group, I heard so many stories about Terry and the warm, considerate, kind, and funny things he has done and was doing with so many different people.
What a wonderful soul!
It was perfect that he had a Bishop Perry at his bed side at Terry's time of need ... What better way can a man go that walked with God and showed it in so many ways to so many people!

Terry was a very warm and gracious human being, and a family man of strong and very sincere values. He could always be counted on, and over the years everyone in the lab came to depend on him. He played an essential role in maintaining our equipment and played an essential role in facilitating a great deal of research throughout the Scripps campus.

I had the pleasure of knowing Terry while I was a graduate student at TSRI. I was always impressed with his smile and happy outlook. He often enjoyed bringing candy by the labs and giving a little bit to everyone.
He always worked very hard, getting the X-ray machines working. Just such a nice guy, and it saddens me to think that won't get to wave hello to him around the TSRI campus anymore.
My most sincere condolences to Terry's family.
I remember meeting him at O'Brien's
while having dinner around the Convoy area once. I still remember him telling me how that was one of his favorite spots to hang out.

Although I met Terry as a customer, he was one of the happiest and most sincere people I knew. Given the many dilemmas we went through together, he always had a smile. He reminded me of the joy you should get from every day of your life. I hope his family will take solace in knowing his joy spread out to many people. I'll miss my friend.

Dear Romana and Family, It goes without saying that we will certainly miss Terry...his smile was contagious and no matter how you were, you felt even better after a "hello" and smile from him. He was a man of God who served Him to the end. He always made Shaun and Nikki feel special, and represented the best qualities of a Catholic. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us. Mr. Terry has always treated me and my son with respect he always played with my son. And he and his wife Mre. Romona has always showed me and my mom and son love. Dear Mona and family,
I was so sad and shocked to hear that you and we have lost Terry. I was away at a meeting and only just heard. His smiling face was the first thing I ever saw in the x-ray lab at Scripps, and he patiently taught me and the other students how to get the most out of the beam and enjoy our research - and he always had candy for us when we didn't. Although we will miss his technical expertise, it's the loss of his winning, positive personality that makes this such a bitter loss. His kind and gentle spirit have always been a part of Scripps for me, and contributed to this being a happy place for all of us. Scripps is a big place, and there are a lot of people who have been there a very long time. But Terry was one of those people whose reassuring presence defined Scripps for me. It's going to take a while for this to sink in. I can't imagine the place without him. I know when I go into work on Monday, I'll expect to wave to him in the garage just like I always did. For me, his spirit is still around. And I think that for all of countless people who remember Terry fondly, he is still with us.

To all of Terry’s extended family: I usually got a message in the form of a joke from Terry in the middle of the night, or early morning. Terry loved a good joke (including an electronic snowball fight) and laughed a lot. In between the e-jokes he let me know that things were going well, and never hesitated to send a note for prayer for Mona, whom he has shared with me that his marriage to her made him unbelievably happy. You could tell how much he loved you, Mona, because he never failed to mention you, and he lit up when he was in your presence.
May God receive Terry with his legacy of a human who did the best he could, greeted and left people with a smile, and rarely said no if he had the expertise to help (and when he didn’t know, he read up on it). There has to be a special place in heaven for people who always try to leave people better off for his being there.
I will miss your jokes and your presence, Terry. Sending love and prayers to all of his family.

Mona and Family,
Terry was a shining example of how we should live. He always had a smile on his face. He was the first to help someone or be concerned about them.
He loved you, Mona, and he loved life in general. You have wonderful memories of your trips together. You showed us not to wait until retirement to do things and see as much as possible.
We will all miss Terry's physical presence but he is partying with Stan, David, Norman and many others right now. He'll be near you whenever you think of him with a smile and fond memories.
Be encouraged, my sister. You know you can always call on us.

To Ramona,
Please accept my condolences for your tremendous loss. Know that you and the family are in my prayers. I miss Terry very much. That warm infectious smile of his broke down language barriers and made many friends. The other night while talking to a number of Spanish speakers, the only way they remembered him and knew who I was talking about was when I described his smile…then they knew; then they were very sad and so was I, and so was I. He will be so missed.

Dear Cross Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Terry's passing. I felt like I had just talked to him the other day. I have known Terry for a number of years (working at TSRI), and worked closely with him for a few of them when I helped manage the Wilson x-ray lab. Terry was a wonderful man, caring, always smiling, patient and easy going, and fun to work with. He was a site to see walking around in his lab coat, but most impressive was his big smile! I was immediately impressed when I first learned that he was retired USMC (my father was career Navy), and it must be an interesting story how he ended up knowing so much about x-ray generators and other lab equipment. I wish I had asked him. He taught me how to do a lot with those machines, including changing the delicate filaments that helped generate the x-rays. It took care and expertise so that they didn't burn out too quickly, and he did it perfectly. He did all his work that way. We would swap stories and tease each other while doing these chores, so I know he loved and was very proud of his family, and it showed every time I saw him - it anchored him and made him happy. He was my friend, and I will miss him. I'm a better person having known and learned from Terry and will never forget him. My family and I wish you the very best during this difficult time.

We were very saddened to hear of the loss of your husband (Terry). We share in your loss because you two were just like family to us.
