What is the purpose of the In Remembrance site?
This site is intended as a place to remember and honor American service members lost in Afghanistan and Iraq through profiles, photos, Guest Books, and Moving Tributes™.

Who is featured on this site?
Every U.S. service member identified as a casualty of either Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom receives a profile and Guest Book on the In Remembrance site.

Where do you receive the information for service members' profiles?
The content (including the photo) for each individual profile comes from a number of sources. The majority of the content is provided by the Associated Press, one of Legacy.com's newspaper affiliates, or the Department of Defense. In some cases, content was provided directly by the service member's family. The site is continually updated as new information becomes available.

How long will the profiles remain online?
The In Remembrance site is intended to be a permanent memorial for all featured service members. All content within the profile will remain online indefinitely, including photos, Guest Book entries, and Moving Tributes™.

How much does it cost to create a profile?
All profiles on the site are free of charge. Legacy.com created the In Remembrance site as a service and as such receives no money for the maintenance of the site.

Can I submit a photo for a service member's profile?
Yes. If the profile does not include a photo and you have a photo you’d like to add, please send it to [email protected]. Please indicate the name of the service member and your relationship to the service member, and include contact information should we have any questions about the photo. Only one photo can be featured on a profile. Additional photos can be added to the Guest Book Photo Gallery.

Please note: any photo submitted is subject to Legacy.com’s Guest Book guidelines.

What is a Moving Tribute™?
A Moving Tribute™ is a multimedia feature that uses photos, music, text, and voiceover narratives to create a powerful memorial. Tributes are free of charge for every service member featured on the In Remembrance site.

Tributes are created through a simple five-step process. Once created, the tribute is added to the service member's profile. Multiple tributes may be created for any service member.
