Emily T. Perez Obituary

The death of this young soldier so moved me in 2006, that I added her picture to my Facebook link. I just want the Perez family to know that Emily has inspired me to be a better person...and to be so thankful for my freedom. Since I learned about her, I have kept Emily and all our courageous soldiers and their families in my mind and heart and send prayers for their great sacrifices. I think of her and others every time I see the
American flag, say the Pledge of Allegiance, and oft times when I feel so very privileged to live in America. I wish I could have met Emily as she is my hero and will always be. I look forward to meeting her in the afterlife where I can thank her personally for her service and sacrifice. May her loved ones be comforted that she was an inspiration in this world, and it is a better place for having her in it. May God bless her family and that there be some peace and comfort in knowing she has an incredibly special place with God and in the hearts of myself and others.

I read of Emily's passing years ago. I never forgot her story of dying in the war. I know your hearts still ache for her. She now belong in eternity. A whole family of women Veterans celebrate her still. Brenda US ARMY. 78-85.

West Point made her what she was and she died defending her men and women in her command. I just wish the world could see the woman she could have been.

My heart aches each time I hear of the loss of loved ones like Lt. Perez, due to war. I too long for the time when there will be no wars and the sacrifice of our young ones. Please take comfort knowing that God promises to end the misery and pain of death, and to unite families with those loss in death here on earth after he establishes peace on the earth.
