Mr. Bohler, I only knew you briefly from affar. I co-responded with you for a short time after reading an article about you and the Tuskegee Airmen in the Tampa Tribune a few years ago. After reading that story I mailed you a letter and you were gracious enough to respond. This went on for sometime. Much to my regret my best friend and companion of several years informed of your passing the other day. I'm sorry now that I never took the opportunity sir to meet you face to face. To perhaps take you to dinner and talk to you, to learn from you. We "white kids" were never taught about the "Airmen" in our history classes in school and you sir were so kind to share with me about your experiences as a pilot. Sadly more and more folks, people of the "Greatest Generation" are leaving us everyday while there is yet so much to learn from you. I read of your tribulations during the tumult of the sixties and in my heart admired and respected you from afar whilst decrieing the ignorance and inhumanity that man so often treats his brother with. The world sir is a lesser and sadder place with the passing of men like you and again to my deepening regret I only knew you from afar. May the God of all comfort bring peace and comfort to your family, friends, and loved ones. May He guide their paths here on earth as he causes His face to shine brightly on you as you stand in His prescence. May he bring the equality to all men that you strove for in your time here. May he open our eyes to see and enlighten our hearts with the knowledge that ALL MEN truly are our brothers. I am sincerely yours Craig Williams
