J effrey Neil Lamana, 32, of Kingston and formerly of Hazleton, died Saturday morning following a long struggle with cancer.
Mr. Lamana was born on April 17, 1973, in Hazleton, a son of Rosemary Lamana, Hazleton. He was a 1992 graduate of Hazleton Area High School and was employed as a technical support representative for Epix Internet Service, a division of Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Wilkes-Barre.
He was the founder and owner/operator of Philaphans.com, one of the largest Philadelphia sports fan websites in the country with over 190,000 visitors a month. Jeff was also the co-host of probaseballcentral.com, a weekly internet radio talk show, and had covered the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons and Philadelphia Phantoms hockey team as a member of the independent sports press.
In 2004, Jeff helped found and served as president of Phans for Hope, a charity that was formed by members of his online community who wanted to help the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodges. Jeff was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and he loved his teams, the Phillies in particular, as he loved his family, friends and colleagues, wholly and unconditionally. He will be greatly missed by not only those who knew him closely and personally, but by those who benefited from his numerous efforts to enrich the lives of others.
He is survived by his wife, Adina, Kingston; mother, Rosemary, Hazleton; Uncle Neil and his wife, Angel, Hazleton; several cousins.
The funeral will be held at a day and time to be announced. Memorial donations can be made to Phans for Hope c/o Eric Shively, Treasurer, 30-09 45th St., Apt. 3R, Astoria, NY, 11103. Fierro Funeral Service, Hazleton, is in charge of arrangements.

Years have gone but you are still missed and the world isn't as bright as it should be with you gone. It has been a long time since we co-founded the site but be proud because we pioneered an effort that has taken off and sustained with multiple sites, blogs, and podcasts. You were a driving force in that bro. You are forever a part of the Philly Sports landscape. RIP

Jeff was such a kind and caring man. His love for his mom was so endearing. As I am sure his love for his wife was the same. Although hes left us to soon, I know Jeff will be watching us and guiding us through this life till all of our souls meet again. Jeff, I will always have those special memories of your kindness to me. Please continue to touch our hearts as you always have.
Love ya guy, Lissa/Melissa

Always one to think of others, sometimes before others would even think of themselves. Great guy, really helped change my life for the better. You will live forever in our thoughts and by the way you helped shape our lives. Thank you Jeff. We'll always have the Chinese buffet.
