Henry W. Linck would have been 24 on Christmas Day. When his older brother, Michael, was five years old, he said he asked Santa for a little sister, but he got a little brother _ Henry _ instead. "I asked Santa to take him back. Now, I know it''s not possible, but I want Santa to bring him back," Michael Linck said. Linck, 23, of Manhattan, Kan., was killed Dec. 7 by a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was assigned to Fort Richardson and received a GED when he was 17 at the Job Corps in Manhattan. Linck, an Army Ranger, had served in Iraq since October and had previously served in Afghanistan. Michael said his brother was in the middle of the application process for the Army''s Special Forces. "We always talked about moving out of Marysville and what we were going to do with our lives," said friend Justin Musil. "Everybody stops when they think they''ve hit their limits. Henry always tried to push you a little farther." He also is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Paul Fye, and father, Fredrick. "He died doing something he believed in and loved," Michael Linck said.

RIP SSG Linck, a true patriot and hero. Every day, I proudly wear a KIA bracelet with your name on it that I got from herobracelets.org and tell people what I know about you when they ask me about it. I hope your family and friends take comfort in knowing that your memory and sacrifice are honored by someone who never knew you. This Army veteran salutes you, and commends your family for raising such a fine and honorable man!!

I am sure that Memorial Day is a difficult time for your family - but I wanted to you to know that I pray for them every Sunday along with Micah's and Dustin's. Your valor, sacrifice and Courage are not forgotten.

Your buddy Trey returns to Iraq in Aug. back to Kalsu.

I met you at Air Assault school in 2002 and you helped me get through it. There were only four of us with maroon berets and we got picked on by the instructors. The four of us made it. I still remember having a drink with you off post after we got back from Afghanistan and you didn't think you would reenlist. Obviously you did, and I know your soldiers benefitted from it. You're missed, brother!

Happy Birthday to Henry, two days late, he is remembered in my heart every year at this time. I know he is in heaven looking down on all of us. He is still so very much missed.

On this day and with each day that we enjoy our freedom, I would like to give thanks and let you know that I do not take our troops for granted. May you experience God when you feel your loss.
