Donald Carasella Obituary
Donald "Pete'' M. Carasella, Vietnam Veteran (62nd Eng. 20 LC), beloved husband of Kathleen; devoted father of Jennifer (Robert) Zyzo, Kristine (Joseph) Caruso and Nicole Carasella; cherished grandfather of Olivia, Sophia, Joey and Dominic; son of the late John and Evelyn Carasella; loving brother of John (Marianne) Carasella; Ronald (Lisa) Carasella and Rodney Carasella; dear uncle and cousin to many. Pete will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all fortunate to have known him. Visitation Sunday, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (1 blk. East of Naperville Rd.), Wheaton. Funeral Mass Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, 1555 Glen Ellyn Rd., Glendale Heights (Please meet at church). Interment Queen of Heaven. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Pete Carasella Memorial Fund appreciated.

Dad, you NOW have your wonderful bride with you. Mom is finally painfree and rejoicing, but the pain here is unbearable. I find comfort in the fact that we will join you both in heaven some day. I will cling to the memories of you both until that day. I love you both DEEPLY.

Dad, you would be the BIG 60 today and of course, you would be hearing about my anniversary ANOTHER YEAR. Somehow it doesn't seem fair to have you gone, I feel such a VOID in my life without you. Kat and family, I never knew Pete, Daddy to you girls, but I do know you, Kat, and it's very obvious how much you loved each other. It shines through in every single photograph. This is our first Easter without you, and it was hard, but we find comfort in knowing you're no longer in pain and with loved ones. Dad, there's nothing I can write on this page that you didn't already know. I miss your laugh and your smile, and your hugs, and hearing you call me "babydoll". But what I miss the most is when I had nightmares, you ALWAYS ran into the room to hold me, and comfort me and tell me "it's ok, Daddy's here"... even when I was 27yrs old!
Just like the note I gave you so long ago that you'd kept on the fridge "I miss you when you're gone", I miss you so very much that my heart hurts, but I know you are forever by my side.
P.S. you made me a promise, that last day, that you would take care of the nightmares from the other side... well, haven't had any yet!! Thanks!

I was at Grant-White with Pete. Fourth thru the sixth grade. One of the things I remember about Pete (besides his dimples)was that he was a ruthless marble player. I lost a bunch to him until I learned to aim better. You surely will be missed.

So very sorry to hear of Pete's passing. I knew Pete when we were kids growing up in Forest Park - and was lucky enough to get reconnected in the last few years. What a great guy! My deepest sympathy goes to the Carasella Family. Pete was a great guy. I will always cherish the wonderful memories we had living in the Carasella building on the first floor. Will always cherish the great get togethers with the Carasella family,the Bixler family. Our kids grew up together in Forest Park, got along so well.
