Paul Donahue

Paul Eugene Donahue, 58, Topeka, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Paul was born March 1, 1947 in Topeka, the son of Thomas and Genevieve Weigand Donahue. Paul graduated from Hayden High School in 1965 and earned a bachelors of business administration degree from Washburn University. He served his country in the Kansas National Guard from 1966 to 1971. He was a supervisor for the State of Kansas in the insurance department, where he worked for more than 25 years. He had previously worked for the Social Security Administration. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Etzel, and her husband, Steve, Topeka, and their children, Mark Etzel, his son, Zachary, Topeka, Julie Etzel, Durham, N.C., Christopher and Audrey Etzel, and their daughter, Grace, Holton; his brother, John C. Donahue, Overland Park; his brother, James E. Donahue, and his wife, Betty Jo, Oklahoma City, and their children, Deborah Donahue-Pyle and her husband, Ryan Pyle, Dallas Texas, Brenda Donahue, and Jennifer Donahue, both of Oklahoma City; and his sister, Mary Miller, and her husband, Kevin, Topeka, and their children, Amy Miller Seymour and her husband, Tom Seymour, Lawrence, Kelly and Matthew Schmidtlein, Topeka, and Patrick Miller, Lawrence. Paul will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 S.W. Urish Road, where a vigil service will be at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with burial following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
