Matt, Not sure why, but you came into my head today and I realized it's almost been ten years. I always try to visit you in the cemetery when I'm passing through DC. I don't know if anyone ever looks at this, but you're not forgotten. See you on the high ground.

You do not know me, nor I, you, but I had the privilege of holding the American flag yesterday with your son's/ brother's name clipped on it at The Blue Mile during the Marine Corp marathon in Washington DC. I am deeply sorry for the loss of your loved one. I learned of Matthew in my 4th grade Writing class. We learned that freedom isn't free. I am blessed and thankful to be an American. I am so proud of the men and women that fought for our country.

Thank you for your sons service for our country. He sacrificed his life for our freedom.He was a very important person to our lives.
