Carol (Black) Abernethy and family

My thoughts are with Uncle Jim's family and his siblings. When Uncle Jim moved into Season's I was grateful for the time that I got to visit and get to know him better...can I say...the Black Boys have many similar features and manners that endure them to us...

I have many fond memories of times spent with Jim & Elizabeth. You both were my parents out of town and friends who could be counted on no matter what. You helped me out when I needed it and stood beside me when I married and cherished my daughter as though she were your grandchild. Forever in my heart with love.

I will remember Jim as a gentleman and a man if integrity and skill as a long-term member of the "Wood Gundy Family". We will miss him greatly at our monthly old boys lunches. My condolences to all the family.

I have very fond memories of my parents Bob & Edna Laxer, Dorothy & Gus Hahn & Elizabeth & Jim having fun filled evenings in my parents boat house on many summer Saturday evenings.

I will always remember Jim for the kindness that he showed me at Sunny Lake. He always made me feel welcome and like one of the family. I will miss our talks on the phone. Love You Jim.

Jim wouldn't believe us fellow Humbersiders when we told him many years later at our semi-annual HCI Golf that he was our hero and the guy we would most like to emulate. But he will always be that to those of us who followed him.
