Mary Hinterberger-Seaman Obituary

On January 22, 2009, MARY HINTERBERGER-SEAMAN completed the course of her preparation for eternity and transitioned into the heavenly presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mary started her journey January 15, 1954 in Buffalo and grew up in New York. She did, however, make it to Texas as fast as she could after she graduated from college in 1976. In Texas she worked in the energy industry and had her own seismic brokerage company. Mary was God's treasure, beautiful and talented, and was crowned Miss New York in 1975. Although raised in the Catholic tradition, with five aunts as nuns no less, Mary found a more independent path and entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in 1980 . . . and her life was transformed forever. She devoted the rest of her life to sharing the Good News of a personal relationship with Jesus. She personally witnessed to thousands and led many to the Lord. Many will recognize below the calling card she handed out. Mary will be waiting at the Gates of Heaven for her husband Scott Seaman. Mary also will be looking for future reunion with her family . . . parents Joseph and Patricia Hinterberger, brothers Frank and Joseph Hinterberger, sisters Raya Soleil, Kathy Hayes, Elizabeth and Eileen Hinterberger, nieces and nephews and the numerous people she loved thru her ministry. A celebration of Mary's life will be held January 31, 2009 at 2:00pm in the chapel of the Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champions Forest Drive, with visitation one hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Somebody Cares America, PO Box 570007, Houston, TX 77257. JESUS LOVES YOU HOW TO MAKE HEAVEN YOUR HOME "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." -John 3:16 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -Romans 3:23 "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." -Romans 10:9 "Jesus said `I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, except through Me." -John 14:6 PRAY THIS PRAYER "Dear Jesus, I am a sinner. I believe that You died and rose from the dead to save me from my sins. I want to be with You forever. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. I give my life to You. Thank You for saving me today! In Jesus Name, Amen." More info @ www.iChristianLife.com

Not sure what to say?

Surprisingly, for the first time in so long I thought of Mary just yesterday and wondered if she would be in heaven interceding for me alongside Jesus. But there is no 'time' in heaven so there is no waiting for each other, so I guess we will all appear at the same moment. Meeting Mary makes what is soon coming a more special place. God Bless.

With this time of year at hand ,Mary being Ever present in my heart I think a million things. I wished for her to have gotten help at CCA in Ga. The wonders they do now in such a short amount of time in Cancer Recearch, I'm do happy for the families that survive this trauma. She was so strong In faith in family in life & beyond. With kindness I share yhe next sentence she said to me over the phone...In her own words; and with all due respect, "I have never changed nor hyphenated my name of Hinterberger in honor of our late Father". She was weak physically but never stronger in spirit & fight never left her soul.
My mentor, Sister, room mate, mother, my very Best friend for life, I carry you within my heart & smile...

Pardon the extreme lateness, however, my sincere condolences to Frank and families. Mary was beautiful on the inside as she was outside. I remember her smile. Elegant, witty, intelligent, beautiful and faith-filled. May she rest in God's wonderful peace. Her journey continues.

Dear Mary,
Ross and I will always hold you in our hearts. YOu were always there for us and still are now that you have those big angel wings of yours watching over us. You are a one of a kind and the heavens are quite fortunate to have you aboard as I'm sure there is now more great music and light for all to share. Your presence is ever strong still today so I don't grieve but celebrate the incredible presence of you and the trail of light you so generously left in your wake. I am thankful that before you left your earth body you found and enjoyed the love you found in Scott. Much love and light to you dear sister and here's to seeing you in the dreamtime and beyond. xoxoxoxoxo....Raya (alias Ann)

Mary, I miss you. You are one of the few special people in my life that I just always needed to touch base with throughout the last 35 years. We were music students together at Crane and friends for life. Rest in Peace. You will never be forgotten.

I am still picking myself up off the floor. I am devastated. Mary and I usually crossed paths every few years, usually when I was in Houston on business. We would get together, go to dinner, a movie or just walk around a mall. I met her when we were at college. I heard someone playing Scott Joplin in a room at the student union. I dropped in and was her audience for a little while, it was enchanting. We became friends, did a road trip from NY to Texas, and Mexico and back to NY, traveling as much of the country as our finances allowed. We went our separate ways then both of us ended up moving to Houston at different times. We would meet up periodically, then part ways again. I was sent to California but we still would touch base every few years. Being in her presence was like being enveloped in a perfumed spring breeze. I will miss her terribly. I cannot imagine the sense of loss for her family and Scott for I only shared her time in spurts and she had a profound effect on me. Accept my heartfelt condolences late as they are. I know that I will tear up whenever I hear Ragtime, Peacocks crowing or a myriad other memory triggers that we shared. I do know that she is with God as angels are never sent to live on Earth they are only loaned to us for a very short periods of time.
Maywee I miss you,
Yak

I'm very, very sorry to say that only through viewing this guestbook have I learned that Mary has gone on to be with the Father. I'm saddened by the news...not because I wonder where she has gone, but because I hadn't seen her in such a long time.

I met Mary through a friend in Denver, Colorado. I also met her sister Eileen, there. She invited us to her church (like probably hundreds of others who also went there) and I count that church, City on a Hill, as one of the best churches I have ever attended.

I remember Mary's smile, I remember her playing her trumpet with the worship team, and I remember how many people she helped over the years.

But, my most poignant memory of her is backlit, standing over me in a hospital emergency room, as I struggled to survive a near-fatal overdose of anti-depressants. When the authorities found me nearly dead from hypothermia, they also found her name in my wallet ... she was the only one who came.

She didn't know me especially well prior to that (day?/night?) but she more than made up for it in the years that followed.

I will always treasure the friendship that we had and look forward to seeing her again on that day.

My father has been dead for nearly 30 years and I was just going thru his old albums as I have been recently contacted by lost relatives of his and went to be united with them for a few weeks. I came across these pictures of Mary in my father's albums and out of curiosity looked her name up as I wonder about people who have crossed paths and what has become of them now. This picture was also in the Turkish newspaper which is also in the album as he was a well established coach in the international federation. It is so sad that I learned she is gone at a young age. But here is a picture of her with my father when he was in the polar bears in NY which looks to be a media event. I must've been 4 years old at the time.

As a '72 Shenendehowa High School classmate of Mary, I was always in awe of her extraordinary beauty and spirit. I will cherish the memories of our many conversations and time spent together. It doesn't surprise me how many people speak of Mary's wonderful and breathtaking smile. Mary left a lasting impression on everyone she touched and I include myself as one of the lucky individuals who had the privilege of being part of Mary's life.

There are few people who have left a lasting impression on my life in the conscious level over the last 26 years of my 48 lived. Mary is one of those few, with her love for life and most endearing love for her Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. Her life’s mission statement “to really Know HIM and to make Him Known” with the most genuine heart by the very life she lived was a testimony to whom she truly entrusted her heart and her love. And because she knew His love so well she was able to share it and give it away. I knew Mary as a worshipper of the Most High God, and she lead many to the throne in worship, in prayer, giving hope and encouragement to many weary souls of which I was one.

Thank you Mary for a life well lived, I know you heard the words of your Lord say: “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into your rest” Yes, Mary now your songs of worship to the Lord most High are heard by the hosts of heaven and I rejoice with you.

Dear Hinterberger Family, thank you for choosing to love well in your home and to embrace life’s challenges with courage and integrity. What a legacy you have left to be reflected by your wonderful children. I am most grateful to have met Mary & Eileen and through them the richness of your family heritage.

Scott my heartfelt prayers of comfort and encouragement go out to you as you continue your life in Christ as our Lord’s return nears. Though you’ve lost your best friend, she’s now your greatest cheerleader as you continue the race. From Phil 3:7-14, I know Mary would encourage you with vs 14 “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Thank you brother for loving her well.

May the Grace, Love and Peace of the Lord bring comfort, encouragement and life to each of you.

Yours,
Eric Colson / Waco Tx

Although quite belated , I just heard today that Mary had passed and wish to say that she was such a wonderful person that I will miss her and she will definately be missed by all who knew her. Mary was a business associate of mine and a good friend whom I could always call on have a cheerful conversation with. From Houston in the 70's, to Denver in the 80's, and back to Houston in the 90's we seem to have both been on similiar paths and I can only say that I will miss her greatly.

Mary baby-sat me and my brothers as well as several other children in our neighborhood. Naturally, everybody had a crush on her. She was just so nice, and her family were and still are such nice people.

My heart goes out to them not only on the loss of Mary but on the recent passing of Mr. John Hinterberger.

Mary was the first person we saw at Victory Christian Center; her faith in Jesus Christ and love for His sheep was apparent at all times. When we prayed for my brother-in-law's salvation and asked the Lord to bring him to Houston, it was through Mary that the Lord granted him salvation. We were present when she led him to Jesus and we are forever grateful and praise God for her and her ministry. To her family and loved ones, we say "thank you" for sharing her and pray that you are comforted during this time of separation by the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ's Name.

My Dear friend Mary lived well and finished well as she passed the baton onto those she left here.
Can't you just see her slipping out of her physical body onto her tip toes while she raised her arms and lifted her head to twirl and dance into the arms of "Pappa"? We adopted each other as sisters in the Lord and that relationship has been a golden thread woven into the tapestry of my life full of rich memories, fun experiences and impartations of wisdom. Mary's heart of gratutude, servanthood, effervescent joy and laughter will be missed until we all are reunited with her. How fitting for Mary to remind us that our purpose and mission is the great commission. I'm sure there is a substantial accounting going on in Heaven of those she led to the Lord and discipled as well as those yet to come as a result of coming across Mary's path. What joyous reunions in Heaven. Since Mary has received her completed healing, to Scott and Mary's family the prayers are now for your healing by the Comforter,
Resurected Savior, Faithful Lord and Hope of the Ages.

Dancing Mary, bold, beautiful, graceful and complete. The world is a little darker for her going, and Heaven's dancers are excited by her arrival. She had an impact on my wife and I that changed our lives by just dancing and being who the Lord made her to be. A true soul winner always ready for her Lord's acceptable time to meet a faith opportunity. Always with love and confidence and a smile that was bright as sunshine and twice as warm. She truly left a mark on our lives and we look forward to joining her on Heaven's dance floor with an embrace of the anointing of a real child of God.
