Clarence “Lynn” McCarthy
Clarence “Lynn” McCarthy was born on March, 23, 1964, and passed away on June 15, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 61 years old.
Lynn was the devoted husband of Doris McCarthy for 20 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and faith. He was a proud and loving father to Kassandra Koster, Tony (Danielle) McCarthy, Christopher (Jennifer) Williams, and Jason McCarthy. He was also a cherished grandfather to many grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply and unconditionally.
He is survived by his siblings Jeff McCarthy and Janie Bates, who, like so many others, will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Betty Cullum and two brothers, Bill and Eddy McCarthy.
Lynn lived his life with a selfless heart. He was always the first to offer a helping hand—whether someone needed a ride, a meal, a tool, or simply someone to listen. He loved his family fiercely and made sure each one of them knew it—not just through words, but through the way he showed up for them time and time again.
For many years, Lynn worked as a truck driver, a profession he took great pride in. He enjoyed the freedom of the open road and the hard work that came with it. His dedication and work ethic were admired by all who knew him.
He also served as a volunteer firefighter, bravely giving his time and energy to protect and care for others. That same spirit of service carried over into every part of his life.
Lynn was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord with all his heart. His relationship with God was at the center of who he was, and it showed in how he lived—with kindness, humility, and grace. He found peace in the outdoors, especially while hunting, one of his greatest joys. And he was known far and wide as the best storyteller around. His stories brought people together, made them laugh, and left lasting impressions on everyone lucky enough to hear them.
Lynn will be remembered for his big heart, unwavering faith, and the way he loved—fully, honestly, and without hesitation. His absence leaves a hole that can never be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the lives he touched.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
