Not sure what to say?

Margie was a very special person, fun to be with and great to work in the church kitchen with for any occasion. She could organize an event and make it happen. She loved her Jesus and served Him in what she did. Her and Ken were a great couple and she will be missed by all who knew her. Prayers for you Ken and your family, I know that Jesus will be with you at this time. Much love.

Ken, and Margie's friends and family and the church - we are very sorry to hear of her passing. She did so much for the church and truly was a Christian servant. While this is such a rough time, we treasure our post-church talks with her and Ken. It was such a blessing to see such an example of Christian service and God's love working through them. We are grateful for both of their contributions to so many through their love of Christ. Margie AND Ken, we think of you as a team many Sundays,...

To Ken & Family..sincere sympathy. Maggie

Prayers for Ken who lost the love of his life.

Marjorie's Obituary

(née Crothers) Marjorie C. Underwood, of West Deptford, affectionately known as Margie, went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. Margie was the beloved wife of 57 years to Kenneth Underwood, and a devoted mother to her daughter, Jacqueline Henderson and her husband, Douglas of Cape May, and her son Richard and his wife Deborah (Ballinger) of Moorestown.  She treasured being “Grandmom” to her grandsons: Nicholas Henderson and his wife Susan, and Nathan Underwood; and her granddaughter, Kelly Henderson. She was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Elliot.  Also left to treasure her memory is her sister, Elizabeth Elliott, and her in-laws Richard and Margaret Underwood, Donald and Patricia Underwood, Doris Miller and Dianne Stock, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.  She was pre-deceased by her parents, Louden and Marjorie (Benner) Crothers and her brother-in-laws Daniel Elliott and Forrest Miller.

Margie was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from John Bartram High School Class of 1966.  She married the love of her life, Kenneth, and they raised their family primarily in Haddon Township before retiring to their current home in West Deptford.  An administrative assistant by profession, she worked at various places including the Lehigh Press and First United Methodist Church in Collingswood.  She was also an active member of FUMC, recently serving as a Trustee; and she was a past member of the Woodbury Garden Club.

Margie enjoyed various interests and hobbies: crafting, cake decorating, frequently visiting the Cape May area and many trips to Disney World. When down the shore, she loved to go up to the Delaware Bay “just to make sure it was still there”. However, her biggest passion and the place she was most happy was her Garden.  She was also richly blessed with the spiritual gift of hospitality and loved entertaining her family and friends no matter what the occasion. She also dedicated that gift to helping with many functions at First United Methodist in Collingswood.

Loved ones and friends will be gathering for a Memorial Service celebrating Margie’s life on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at First United Methodist Church, 201 Dayton Avenue, Collingswood, NJ.  Visitation will be from 9:30-11am with the Service commencing at 11am.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Cooper Hospital in Camden and Wiley Mission in Marlton for their dignified and thoughtful care of Margie in the time of her greatest need.  She was much loved and will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.

Arrangements by the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, Collingswood & Audubon, NJ.
