Mr. George "Howard" Wright, III, the son of the late George Wright, Jr. and Mrs. Veronica "Dugg" White Wright Wearing was born on January 6,1953, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He departed this life on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Trident Medical Center, North Charleston, South Carolina.

At an early age, George’s Christian journey began at Unity African Methodist Episcopal Church (now Greater Unity) where he accepted Christ.

George was a gentle giant and a great lover of his family and friends. He always enjoyed family gatherings and great conversations. Smiling and reminiscing about the “good ole days.”

A 1972 graduate of Roberts High School at which he enjoyed activities on those days along with many classmates.

He was employed by White Plains Hospital and served as a Security Officer at various venues.

He married the love of his life, the former Karen Andrews on September 25, 1976. This union was blessed with one daughter, Dalaya.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Cayden L. Burgess; sister, Linda Wearing; grandparents, Robert White, Sr. and Helen Jamison White; George, Sr. and Jeanette Wright; mother and father-in-law, Mosella and Alex Andrews and brothers-in-law, Lewis Washington and Phillip Bishop.

He leaves to cherish precious fond memories: a devoted and caring wife, Karen Andrews Wright; a daughter, Dalaya Simone Wright; three grandchildren, Amani, Jaylen, and Kamari Burgess, all of the home; six sisters; Mrs. Jeanette E. Washington, Mrs. Olympia Cummings, Mrs. Roslyn Bishop, Mrs. Leatrice (Shabazz) Potter, Ms. Rosa Wearing and Ms. Novada Wearing; one brother, Mr. Kevin Wearing; five aunts; Mrs. Lula W. Barnes, Mrs. Estell W. Haney, Mrs. Vernell W. (Johnny, Jr.) Smalls, Mrs. Betty B. White and Ms. Nellie Wright; three uncles, Mr. Kenneth (Carolyn) White, Mr. Lawrence White and Mr. William Wright; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Alexis (Willis) Banks; a step-father, Mr. Tom Wearing; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of his sister, Ms. Elizabeth "Mic" Washington in Dorchester, SC.
