Paul W. Thomas, 78, of Florida, passed away on February 16, 2025. Born on August 4, 1946, in Quincy, MA, he was the beloved son of the late Herbert and Doris Thomas. In 2015, Paul made Florida his home after many years in Pennsylvania.
A dedicated and accomplished Nuclear Engineer, Paul was known not only for his intellect but for his generosity, warmth, and unwavering support for those he loved. He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Chandler Turner Thomas; his children, Dr. Matthew Paulus Thomas (Gina) of Doylestown, PA, Haley Hamilton (Sean) of Lake Placid, and Hank Henry (Mindy) of Sebring, FL. He was also a cherished brother to Herbert C. Thomas (Cathy), Richard W. Thomas, David W. Thomas (Cecelia), Carol E. Thomas, Sharon E. Safford, and Deborah DeFelice (Michael). Paul took great pride in being a loving grandfather to Matthew Thomas and Teagan Hamilton. His faithful companion, Newman, will deeply miss his presence.
Paul embraced life with a spirit of adventure, enjoying travels with Chandler, especially to their favorite destination, St. Martin Island. A true romantic, he found joy in the beauty of flowers and often brought them home to his wife as a token of his love. He was a skilled and passionate Texas Hold’em player, a thoughtful friend, and a man who found happiness in small, meaningful gestures—like baking cookies and sharing them with others. Affectionately known as “Popsicle,” he was a source of warmth, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew him.
Paul’s legacy of love, generosity, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
