Samuel Rutherford Obituary

RUTHERFORD, Samuel Wilson March 2, 1930 - April 3, 2014 . Dad passed peacefully after a brief fight with cancer. Predeceased by the love of his life, Sally, in 2002, he leaves behind his daughters Kathy Banville and Heather Reid as well as his grandsons Trevor (Paige), Todd (Melissa), Tyler, James (Kandice), his granddaughter Colleen and his 6 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his brothers Norm (Shirley) and George (Kathy) as well as his best friend Bill Black. Dad left us with a lot of love and wonderful memories to treasure. Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Irene Thomas Hospice for all their loving care. . A memorial will be held on Wednesday, April 9 at 2:00pm at the Richmond Funeral Home at 8420 Cambie Rd in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. . Sam & Sally were two of my very favourite people. We all feel and share your loss Heather, Kathy & families. He took all your love with him and was so very proud of his beautiful family.
Holding you all close in my heart while yours mend. Draw on each other for strength at this difficult time as we all draw on our wonderful memories of two beautiful souls, together again.
