Prayers for comfort and peace to Alex, Melanie, Will & Kaleb
Mrs. Dewey, Susan, Nancy and all the nieces and nephews. What a beautiful memorial service today at Forest Hill. The video was so moving seeing the varied images of Uncle Pete with those he loved. Love that the pastor shared Pete's favorite Scriptures, especially John 15:5. Enjoyed seeing so many friends and family celebrate his entrance into Heaven.

My Uncle Pete
was a one-of-a-kind original! I looked forward to every visit with him. When I was a little girl his his sense of style and fashion influenced me. I remember during his hippie stage I bought a leather vest with fringe, mini skirt and GoGo boots; and I could not wait to go visit him all dressed up! I was not more than about 10 years old at the time; he was my first crush! He always had a funny story to tell and left me and my brother, Gene in stitches. He was an artist, sweet and sensitive with a beautiful smile and twinkling eyes. I loved him; our whole family loved him and his authenticity. He was who he was! See ya in Heaven Uncle Pete! Love,

Pete and I were best friends starting about 1955. We were known as Pete and "repete" and did everything together. We lost touch over the years but I'm grateful i got to see him again at our 50th MPHS reunion. Just can't believe CAD III is no longer with us.

I first met Pete in the mid 70's when I started coming to the Women's apparel shows. All you can say about Pete is: What a guy. He was full of life and had awesome sense of humor, sometimes off of center, but, didn't we all back when we were young and living the good life. Pete was one of the GOOD GUYS.. Good Bless him, his family and his vast array of friends. He will be missed.

To Alex and family I am so very sorry for all of you and for all of Pete's many friends. I worked for him at The Charlotte Merchandise Mart almost forty years ago. We always looked forward to his winning smile and outrageously funny and intellectual sense of humor. He will be missed by all but I'm sure he is already working a crowd in heaven.
