James Randall Young, Sr., of Lexington, husband of Judy White Young, passed away Sunday, March 9th, 2014 at their residence.
Born in Henderson, KY, and raised in Pine Knob, Jim was the son of the late James Owen and Vera (Mahurin) Young. He was a member of the Yeaman Church of Christ. Jim was a very humble man and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also a very well respected member of the financial services industry in Kentucky and considered an expert by many.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by one daughter, Sheila Young Steinbrenner (Frank) of Louisville; two sons, Tony Young (Sheila) of Corydon, IN and Randall Young (Angela) of Lexington; one step-son, Shannon White of Falls of Rough; one step-daughter, Stacy White Elmore (Pat) of Elizabethtown; ten grandchildren, Lauren and Rachel Baynham, Sarah Knox, Caleb, Lucas and Joseph Young and Logan and Jordan Elmore. Three great-grandchildren also survive. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Anita (Bullock) Young and one daughter, Teresa Young Baynham.
A celebration of life will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Rev Marvin Cormer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Milward Funeral Home-Southland in Lexington Tuesday, March 11th, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. EST. They may call Wednesday, March 12th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
A special thank you is extended to his care team, including Dr. Danny Corales and Dr. Kiran Saraff.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made the cancer research foundation of your choice.

Randall was such a sweet man and will be missed by many! Among other fond memories of him, are the ones when he took time (many years ago) to take his younger cousins all over Pine Knob; great memories for sure!!
