David Rudnick Obituary

RUDNICK, DAVID David Rudnick, 87, of Woodbridge, CT, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. He was the beloved son of Paul and Betty (Chernoff) Rudnick. David is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Lila Ment Rudnick; his dear brother Harold and sister-in-law Vivian; his loving daughters, Amy (and her husband, Michael Zeldin), Marla, and Maxine Rudnick; and his cherished grandchildren, Paul, Spencer and Rachel Ciancola, and Rebecca and Alexander Zeldin. He was the caring brother of the late Maxwell Rudnick and Shirley Schnitman. David was a WWII veteran who participated in the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps. He was the CEO of Rudnick and Sons until his retirement in 1988. David was a true mensch, and he will be missed by all. Private funeral arrangements were held at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, Onyx Road, New Haven, on May 15, 2014. The family will sit shiva at the family home, 4 Redwood Lane, Woodbridge, CT from 6 to 8 pm Thursday through Tuesday, with a shiva minyan on Saturday, May 17, at 9:00 pm. Contributions in honor of David can be sent to Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy, 261 Derby Avenue, Orange, CT 06477; or Jewish Family Services of Greater New Haven, 1440 Whalley Avenue, New Haven, CT 06515.
