Micky, I called you last Thursday (May 7, 2015) to see if we can get together...something we always did whenever I went into the city. I heard a strange recording that got me little concerned. I then sent you a quick email. However, you didn't respond...highly unusual. I thought perhaps you were out of town. It was bothering me so I started to look around. And now I see this note in the Times....it's hard to express how I feel right now. Too many memories going all the way back to the CU days. You were a good guy and a great friend! You genuinely cared for others...perhaps too much.

My first meeting with Micky was like meeting an old friend. He made me an instant part of his world and family. Through the years the bond and sense of family only became stronger. To my dear wife he was a trusted friend and confidant always ready to share; to my children a dear uncle and friend, offering his guidance and love; to me a true friend and brother. We will all miss his presence in our lives and smile in minds and heart as the memories remind us of the joy we shared. Rest in peace.

Somehow, Micky's passing feels as much like a theft' as it does a loss'. Like everyone who loved him has been robbed of this crazy-wonderful human being. I'll miss his big laugh and his bigger heart.
