First, Rush has depart of dimension and we are separated from his wonderful sense of humor for a time. When we arrive we will be reunited. And will begin where we left off.
Betty and your children, I am Al Kessler, the son of the older Al, and enjoyed the tutelage of my Dad for many years. Dad loved to be with Rush and he introduced me to Rush and many others of the "Wild Old Bunch". I met you twice and was with Rush a number of times at various gatherings. I was always impressed with his mild manner and willingness to serve. He was innovative his equipment and in his story telling and could really laugh. We enjoy this great man and were blessed to have an angel among us.

I shall always cherish the times we had together in the Utah Westerners. Your insights into Utah history and your uncanny ability to ferret out the facts will be missed

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Spedden family. I remember Rush so well when he worked with me at Kibbe & Associates (A. Payne Kibbe). I remember his wonderful stories about the pioneers and the discrepancies in their travels. Rush had much knowledge and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. I remember those wonderful times he told me about exciting things that he had done while skiing. He loved to ski and looked forward to the snow season so he could hit the slopes. He was always willing to help others when they needed help and would do so without having to be asked. He was a great example of what each one of us should do for others. His legacy will live on forever in my mind, even though others who worked with Rush have passed on and it has been over 32 years since I worked for Kibbe & Associates. May you all be comforted in knowing what a great person Rush was and what a tremendous example he was to others.

Dear Rush we will miss you. In deepest Sympathy. Death is only a horizon and a horizon is only the limitation of our sight.

What a privilege it has been to have known this wonderful man. He was a great friend, one whom I will always remember and admire. He was certainly a man of multi-talents. In addition to what is written in his obituary, he was an outstanding photographer and computer expert. There was absolutely nothing that Rush did not excel in. We had such great fun skiing the deep powder at Alta. Among his many legacies, establishing the Wild Old Bunch of Alta, Utah is a monument which has brought great joy and wonderful fellowship to many of us old guys. May his soul rest in peace and may he enjoy untracked powder in heaven. (Which can't be much better than we have at Alta).

Rush was a friend, fellow Trailbuff, Utah Westerner and Kaffe Klatch member.
The ancient Greeks believed that a deceased person was immortal so long as his name was remembered and spoken by the living.
Rush, your name will be remembered and spoken often.

The world is a better place because of Rush and the Wild Old Bunch will truly miss him. When he found I had lived in Bolivia we had great discussions of our experiences there. When my knees went bad he outfitted me with a pair of CADS like he used that he got from his friend Johnny Johnson. And so much fun at the end of the season at Alfs when he would bring out his "Maroni Tears". It will never be the same again.
