William Rowand Obituary

William Moore Rowand, 85, of Palm Desert, Calif. passed away July 1, 2013 in Palm Desert, Calif. of cancer. He was born March 3, 1928 to John H. and Marian M. Rowand in Minneapolis, Minn. He married Barbara Ann Thorsell on July 7, 1951 in Azusa, Calif. He was in the electrical trade for over 55 years; being employed by Walterscheid Electric of San Dimas and A&B Electric of Pomona, Calif. Bill and his wife Barbara lived and worked in Glendora, Calif. for over 35 years. He was a member of IBEW and the Mt. Baldy Outboard Assn. before retiring to Palm Desert where he enjoyed golf and traveling. He is survived by daughter Becky Clapper of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; son Bob Rowand of Glendora, Calif.; five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara who passed away December 16, 2012. Services will be private with burial in Glendora, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross.

I will always remember good times we had as a family. All the family outings, whether to New Hope on the Sacramento Delta, Catalina, Blythe, Lake Mohave, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Paradise Point and Palm Desert. You were the best Dad.
