Your son is truly a hero to our nation. Because of special people like him we remain a free nation. This tragedy for your family saddens me since I know how it feels to lose a son. There are no words to describe your pain. Please remember Christ promised us in Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted". I just wanted to extend my heartfelt sympathy to somehow add a very small amount of comfort to show the deep appreciation for Michael's sacrifice to our country. You will be in my prayers. This loss reminds us all that "Freedom is NOT FREE". God Bless you all.

I first wanted to thank your family for your unselfishness, and for being willing to allow such a precious member of your family to serve this country. I do not know you personally, but we are all Americans, and that makes us family. I am praying that God will give you peace and that you will feel his presence in a great way. With my deepest symphathy. Thank you Michael.

Walter, my husband, Kelly, works with you at NACCO. As you know, we too lost our son just 1 month ago. I wish there was something I could say that would ease your pain, but there is nothing that will take it away. I can tell you that praying and trusting that your son is now in the arms of God will help. Allow your family and friends to comfort you. Kelly and I pray that God will give you and your family the strength to go on in the days ahead.
If there is anything we can do for you, or if you just need to talk, just let us know and we will be there.

To Michael's family, I don't know your family, but I want to let you know your son was a special young man. He was serving the USA and I for one do certainly appreciate his willingness. My dad was a Marine and was killed on Okinawa in WWII when I was 3 months old. I have a special place in my heart for men who are willing to put their lives on hold and serve. Those who do not return are the most special. I will keep your family in my heart and prayers. God Bless You you can be so proud of Michael, I am.
