Flo Jones Obituary

Live Stream Link: https://vimeo.com/event/5361467 Recorded Link: https://vimeo.com/1116293720 Flo Jean Jones, born February 11, 1945, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2025, at the age of 80. She was reunited with her parents, George and Clarice Hein, and her brother, Lane, in God's eternal kingdom. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Paul R. Jones, her twin sister Eva, brothers Steve and Lyle, step-daughter Brandi Deal, step-granddaughter Brooke Deal, and sisters-in-law Rosalyn, LaRaine and Kim Hein. Flo lived a life defined by service-to her country, her community, and above all, to her Lord and Savior. Her unwavering love for the Lord guided her through every chapter of her journey. Flo began her career as a medical secretary and later graduated from Arizona State University. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and went on to serve in both active duty and the Army Reserves for a total of 27 years. Starting in the Women's Army Corps (WAC), she rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Military Police, serving as a corrections officer and WAC Platoon Leader. Her military assignments took her from Fort McClellan to the Pentagon, Korea, Japan, and throughout the Pacific Northwest-training, leading, and mentoring others. She was a proud graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in 1982, earning a military master's degree. Alongside her military career, Flo worked over two decades in the cardiopulmonary field, including positions at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix and as a Cardiac Supervisor in Long Beach, California. Upon returning to Arizona in 1998, she worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 14 years. In 2009, Flo was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. She met this challenge with deep faith and unmatched resilience. She underwent emergency brain surgery the next day, and over time faced two brain surgeries, a stroke, meningitis, and a serious fall-always holding onto her strength and trust in God. After retirement, she poured her heart into serving others-attending the Barrow Brain Tumor Support Group with her beloved husband, Paul, and creating handmade cards for survivors and caregivers through the Gray Matters Foundation. Her cards were messages of hope, prayer, and love-her ministry in action. Flo truly fought the good fight. She finished her race with grace, love, and an unshakable faith in the Lord. She was a leader, a giver, a warrior, and a woman of God. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E Bell Rd in Scottsdale. A military internment will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd in Phoenix. Paul and family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.

Flo was so full of life and always had something encouraging to say, even when she was going through tough times. I will miss Flo's words of wisdom when someone at group needed a pick me up. I will also miss her hugs and "I Love You's" . The last time I saw Flo, she made it very clear that she knew she was going to see Jesus, and wanted to make sure everyone knew that and wants to see us there when its our time.
Our world will never be the same without her, but neither will heaven
