CURLEY, James Edward December 11, 1947-January 19, 2025. Age 77, of Seminole, Florida, passed away comfortably at home, with his beloved life companion, Anna M. Dobbs, at his side. Jim was born on December 11, 1947; son of Joseph E. Curley and Eleanor (Ochs) Curley in Leominster Massachusetts. Jim attended Watertown High School, where he played baseball. He graduated from Boston State College in 1969. He was a teacher and taught in the Lexington, Massachusetts school system. He was an avid Boston sports fan loving his Red Sox and New England Patriots. He had season tickets for the Patriots for many years. He went to many Red Sox games when they were the visiting team in St. Petersburg against the Tampa Bay Rays. All he ever wished for was to see the Patriots win a Super Bowl. He was fortunate and blessed enough to see them win six. Jim moved to St. Petersburg in his early 40s and fell in love with the beaches. He spent any free time there. He went into retail management and worked for Leewards/Michael's Arts & Craft stores until his retirement. That is where he met Anna. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Joseph W. Curley of Fitchburg, MA. His nephew, Kevin J. Curley of Flower Mound, Texas sadly also predeceased him. Jim and Anna spent 28 years enjoying their lives together. They traveled the state of Florida, exploring many historical places. Disney World was their "happy place" and they visited the parks over 100 times. They took daily walks in the woods, at a park behind their home and on the beaches. Jim had Anna's love of wildlife infused into his life and became enthusiastic about everything she pointed out to him. He liked to read, mostly non-fiction books about history and wars. Jim had the talent to recall almost all things sports. Be it the teams, the sports, the players, the years and stats. In addition to Anna, he leaves behind his two daughters, Jennifer and husband, David Mallen of North Carolina and Christine and husband, Lee Perrault also of North Carolina; along with three grandchildren; his brother, John (Jack) Curley of Belleair, Florida; sister, Jane and husband, Steve Koenig of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Mildred Curley of Lewisville, Texas; his nephews, Michael and Mark Curley; sister-in-law, Deanne Curley of Leominster, Massachusetts; nephew, Todd Curley; and niece, Jill Keoseian; niece, Susan Gearan; and nephew and Godson, Paul Gearan. He also leaves behind their "little girl", a green-cheek, conure parrot, Chester. She loved her daddy very much. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a gentle soul, may his memory be a blessing. Per Jim's wishes, there will be no funeral services and burial will be private. In his handwritten wishes the last line reads: "Thanks to all for being so caring. I love you all. Jim"
