Bryan Nelson, 66, of Frisco Texas, formerly of DeKalb IL passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano Texas on February 7, 2025.
Bryan was born on March 10, 1958, in Charles City, Iowa, to John R. (Jack) Nelson and Barbara M. Nelson.
Bryan married Laurel Peyton in St. Thomas US Virgin Islands on July 14, 1990. They had one son Alex in June of 1992. Bryan and Laurel later divorced but remained great friends until his death.
Bryan received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University, and went on to earn his MBA from the University of Denver. After graduating Bryan went to work in the computer software industry in Florida and California, before he joined Microsoft. During his time at Microsoft Bryan held the position of Marketing Director for the United Kingdom from 1987 to 1989, Director in the Middle East and Africa 1989 to 1994, and later as Director of China and Hong Kong 1994 to 1999. During his time in China, Bryan worked closely with Chinese Industries and the Chinese Government to bring Microsoft Windows and Office to China and Hong Kong. In 2000 Bryan retired from Microsoft and was self employed thereafter. Bryan enjoyed reading and playing golf. He especially loved saltwater fishing with his son Alex. Bryan and Laurel were very active in showing American Saddlebred horses.
Bryan is survived by his son Alex of Frisco Texas, his ex-wife and cherished friend Laurel of Renton, Washington, and his brother Ray Nelson (Janice) of Wauconda, Illinois. He is also survived by his nephew Michael (Maria) Nelson and great nephews Xavier and Viktor.
He was preceded in death by his parents John R (Jack) Nelson and Barbara Nelson.
Cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

I have been cutting Bryan´s hair for the last 6 years and was a pleasure too. Always so nice to see, catching up or cracking jokes or whatever is going on in our life´s. Going to be missed in my chair!!

Bryan was a good guy who I had the pleasure of knowing while in high school. He was a quiet, kind soul, taken from this earth way too soon.
