William Nimtz Obituary

William "Bill" Richard Nimtz

Passed away peacefully on April 28th in Naples, Florida. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elaine Nimtz, and Father and Mother-in-law Donald and Verna Schill whom he loved as his own. Survived by sisters Nancy Nordstrom (Den) and Kathleen Rinaldo (Michael). For well over a half-century, Bill was the beloved husband of Mary Anne ("Mimi"), proud father of Kirk, Kiki (Jen), Kelly (Gregg) and Kaben (Sierra), and loving grandfather to 11 beautiful grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild who knew him affectionately as "Pops." Bill had an incredible extended family whom he cherished, and made countless friends in every corner of this world and in every walk of life. He will be missed by all.

Bill loved life and lived it well. He grew up in Wisconsin Rapids, where he used his athletic talents to get a scholarship to the University of Colorado and developed a lifelong love of the Rocky Mountains and Buffaloes Football. Also a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan, he attended the famous "Ice Bowl" game against the Dallas Cowboys and remembered that "it wasn't that cold." Bill was a strong patriot, and proudly served in the US Army Reserves.

A great conversationalist, active listener, with a genuine love for and interest in others all combined to make for a very successful career in sales, which he parlayed into an even more successful career as an entrepreneur and business owner. After retiring, he spent more and more of his time on Marco Island, FL, where no morning was complete without spending time with his cherished McDonald's coffee crew.

Arrangements are being made for Celebrations of Life in both Milwaukee (Summer 2021) and Marco Island (Fall/Winter 2021). In lieu of flowers, please consider any demonstration of support to our military veterans.

Hi Mimi. So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a good friend and I was ever intending to get to Milwaukee to visit you guys. He came to visit me here in DC many years ago (around 1980). He was the first guy I knew who had a "car phone." He and his dad once flew me and parts of my 409 engine to Milwaukee for polishing and balancing . I remember it like it was yesterday. Again, Mimi, I am so sorry. Like you, I feel a great sense of loss. jim

Remembering Bill as a classmate as both LHS & AHS hold their 60th high school reunion. It won't be the same without him there. I remember Bill and his family as a neighbors on 14th Street. I babysat for Kathy and Nancy. Rest in peace, Bill.

My condolences, sadden to hear of your loss. Really going to miss our talks we would have, on the telephone every now and then. How he would always stop by my work station at ABQC. With a kind word and great advice.
