Carli Smith Obituary
November 11, 1957 – February 25, 2025
Carli Nicole Smith (Pamela Sue Stewart), age 67, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on February 25, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1957, in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, to the late Gail Annette Strong and Arthur Wayne Stewart.
Carli is survived by her beloved husband, Timothy Smith; her son, Taryn (Shauna) D. Wright; her stepmother, Patricia C. Stewart; her grandchildren, Brianna L. Wright, Shaelah M. Borte-Wright, and Tarah M. Borte-Wright; and her siblings, Arthur (Karen) Stewart, Lori (Steve) Barton, and Nancy (Jeff) Thompson.
Carli had a deep love for education. She earned her bachelor's degree from Old Dominion University and went on to receive her master's degree from Regent University. She dedicated many years to teaching, shaping the lives of her students with her passion for learning.
Beyond her career, Carli found joy in her love for dogs, shopping, and spending time with family. She had a passion for travel and embraced life in many places before settling in Hampton Roads.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and animal lover who will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norfolk SPCA in honor of her love for animals.
