Dolores Catherine Calabotta (nee Tronolone), 94, devoted wife, mother, and friend passed away peacefully Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Point Loma after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones.

She leaves behind six children, Joseph A., Celeste (nee Calabotta) Welch (David deceased) of Connecticut, Dr. David (Beth Godwin deceased), of Quincy, Illinois, Donna Marie (nee Calabotta) Tabone (Pietro), Dr. Bernadette (nee Calabotta) Tyler (John deceased), and John Carmen, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister, Veronica (nee Tronolone) Webdale, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her father and mother, CarmineTronolone and Lucia (nee Sisti) and many brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Calabotta worked many jobs, including but not limited to executive secretary to the Dean of Dental School at the University of Buffalo, General Dynamics, and a purchaser for San Diego State University. She and her husband left the Buffalo area in 1978 and moved to Southern California. She rediscovered her joy for painting and drawing, loved gardening, playing the piano, cooking, decorating for each holiday, while continuing to make her house a home. She enjoyed reading and watching old movies, naming most of the actors and actresses in each movie, supplying additional 'tidbits' of information about each one. In her later years, while living at the Remington Club, she enjoyed re-learning the rules of Black Jack, Texas Holdum, Bingo, and Pinochle, and celebrated her wins!

She will be remembered as one who never took "no" for an answer. She faced challenges head on with a persevering spirit, always looking to God for support and guidance. Dolores' laughter, humor, and love will be remembered and will be immortalized through all those who shared in her life.
