Jo Ann (Taylor Foster) Correll Purdy, former resident and business owner of El Paso, passed away peacefully at home in Aubrey, TX surrounded by family on Saturday May 24, 2025. She was 91.

Jo Ann was born to Robert Lloyd Taylor and Linnie Mae Paulk Taylor with twin brother, Lloyd Van, on August 23, 1933, in Clyde, TX. She and Van were adopted by JB and Lorraine Foster of Kent, TX in 1936.

She graduated from Pecos High School and married David W. Correll on June 10, 1950.

They had five children, Mark Edward Correll, Donna Jean Correll O'Reilly, Janet Correll Farris, Brenda Kaye Correll Baros and Debra Faye Correll Brown. They moved from Pecos to El Paso in 1963 where they raised their family.

Upon the death of David Correll, Jo Ann married Sisco Alan Purdy.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, adoptive-parents and husband, David Correll, second husband Alan Purdy, siblings Billie Cox, Jane Fleming, Lloyd Van Foster and Bobby Foster and her grandson, Matthew James Hover.

She is survived by her 5 children, and her sister Betty Taylor Foster Lesley (husband Kenneth), her nephew Lloyd Van (Foster, Jr) Williamson and a long line of grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, and family members by marriage.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, June 10th at 10:00 am at Irving Bible Church, 2435 Kinwest Parkway, Irving TX 75063. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
