John Sanchez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 15, 2025.
Wilmington - It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John Louis Sanchez of Oxnard, CA on April 15, 2025. He passed away in Wilmington, CA, embraced physically and spiritually by his loved ones near and far. John was born in Santa Paula, CA on June 2, 1931, to Maria Puga and Juan Sanchez. He later resided in Oxnard, CA, specifically La Colonia, where he lived most of his life.

John was a devoted husband to his late wife, Adeline H. Sanchez, and a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching Fox News, reading books, working on 300-piece puzzles, and spending time with the family dogs. He worked at Point Mugu Naval Base as an electrician, later retiring after 42 years. John was known as a hard worker, whose priority was always to provide for his family. He will forever be missed and remembered for his unwavering love and loyalty to his family.

John was a proud American who served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He bravely and valiantly fought in the Korean War. As a USMC veteran, he proudly wore his military shirts and hats, always showing respect for those who served and continue to serve. The simple words he received from fellow Americans, such as "thank you for your service", really warmed his heart and made him feel so honored to have served his country.

John is preceded in death by his parents Maria and Juan Sanchez, brothers Francisco and Jose Sanchez, wife Adeline H. Sanchez, daughter Bernadette Rosas, grandchildren Jose Garcia, Angela Carrillo, and Roman Hernandez, and great grandson Johnny Ray Latham. He is survived by his children Angela Hernandez, Virginia Sanchez, David Sanchez, Bernadine Rosas, and Robert Sanchez, as well as his many grandchildren, cousins, and nieces.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the family and friends who brought joy to John's life. A very special thanks to his Nurse Elba from Providence Hospice for her compassion and gracious care. John will be deeply missed. He will forever be remembered for his generosity, loyalty and kindness, touching the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
