Shirley was an amazing woman. I served with her at East Whittier Soroptimist for many years meeting for lunch weekly (1989-1999). She was always full of laughter and a great person, so giving of her time and her talents. I remember she always said yes to help out in anyway she could and she made a real difference. May God Bless your family at this difficult time. Prayers for your family. Dr Yani

Jim Stewart, you are right! Your Mom, Shirley was a great Mom Your Mom, Shirley was a great Mom and a great friend to all! She dedicated her life to caring for others. I am a member of Soroptimist Int´l of Whittier. She was in Soroptimist Int´l of East Whittier for many years before transferring to Soroptimist Int´l Brea La Habra. I really got to know and appreciate her at the Soroptimist International of the Americas Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1994 when we both were our club´s presidents. (See attached pictures-I´m next to her in the first three pictures-much younger of course!). She even was competitive entering the hula hoop contest! I loved your Mom! Besides Soroptimist meetings over many years we shared dinners together and some great wine and cheeses as we solved many problems in the world. I can hear her giggling laugh and see her beautiful smile in my head. Please thank Linda for sending me a note letting me know. I will pass her obituary on to those who knew her in our club. Unfortunately I am entertaining via a grant of friendship a Soroptimist from New Zealand showing her California including San Francisco the day of her service. Please know Jim, Linda and Catherine and the rest of your family and her dear friends that you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you pay tribute to one amazing woman! May God bless you in this difficult time. Elizabeth Camp

Shirley, you are so loved by family and as a friend. Many fun years spent together, at Washington High School and Job's Daughters. Also, so many fun parties, water skiing trips and camping. Those years were so much fun. You are with so many of our friends now and enjoying many happy heavenly times. Tell them hello for us, and goodbye to you and RIP my friend. Dorothy & Merlin
