Hooey Rodriquez Obituary

Hooey Lynn Rodriquez
04/25/2014 - 01/06/2025
Hooey Lynn Rodriquez, a bright and beautiful light in this world, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2025 at the age of 10. Hooey was born to Cory and Amber Rodriquez on April 25, 2014.
Hooey was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan, a Lego master, and a collector of Hot Wheels and remote-control cars. His curiosity and intelligence shone through in all he did, including his recent acceptance into the Lego Robotics Program at Scharbauer Elementary. Hooey loved animals of all kinds, and his adventurous spirit took him to skate parks, lake outings, and beyond. He adored his scooter, fishing, tubing, and riding his go-kart. Hooey was a true "lake rat," happiest when he was by the water. He was also a sports enthusiast, sharing his love of baseball with his G-Daddy during backyard games of catch. Soccer, volleyball outings with his Uncle Michael or "Best Budy" as he called him, and every opportunity to play and explore were moments he cherished.
He had a special bond with his family, sharing everything with those he loved. He had a special Sunday ritual with his Gigi and G-Daddy, a time filled with love and connection. He learned to season food just right from his G-Daddy and loved baking with Rissa and Henry. Hooey also loved spending time with his KiKi, loving her homemade pizza and enjoying movies together. He was a thoughtful, selfless child-always putting others first. His heart was as big as his curiosity, and he always made sure everyone around him felt cared for. Even on his birthday, he would give one of his gifts to his brother so he didn't feel left out.
Music connected him deeply with his mom, who introduced him to all genres. He was singing before he could talk and dancing in the kitchen-though his moves were famously out of sync. Whether learning to two-step with his mom or cracking knock-knock jokes and tongue twisters, Hooey kept his family laughing and smiling. His dad was his role model, teaching him life lessons, how to drive, and most importantly, how to be a good man. Hooey also was an inspiration to his father, who wanted to always strive to be better each day so that Hooey would know he was loved and protected.
Hooey spread joy wherever he went, and his infectious spirit touched everyone he met. His family could fill a book with the countless memories, love, and joy he brought into their lives during his 10 incredible years on Earth.
Hooey is now reunited in heaven with his Mimi Melody Wallum, Darrell Doss, James and Sue Ashwood, Ysidro M. Rodriquez, James "Jim" Milloway, Barbabra Carol Roberts, and Tommy and Virginia Branham.
Left to cherish is memory are his parents Cory and Amber Rodriquez, siblings Oaklee and Tinsley Rodriquez, grandparents Traci Richards, Ysidro and Trudy Rodriquez, Larry Wallum, and Kerry and Krista Ashwood, aunts and uncles Marissa Rodriquez, Michael Rodriquez, Henry Hoang, Hanna Richards, Brian Wallum, Meagan Wallum, Gerik and Raven Fowler, Kord Ashwood, and Chyanna Ashwood.
