ALEXANDRA S. LEE (NEE KERR)
Alexandra, affectionately known as Alex (US) or Sandra (UK), died peacefully after a long fight with cancer. Ben, her devoted husband of 23 years and loving witness to her life, was by her side.
Alexandra was born March 25, 1956 in Helensburgh, Scotland. Her first 33 years of life were spent in her beloved Scotland where her caring nature led her to pursue a nursing career. Sandra also had a love for adventure, a passion that eventually led her to Canada where she developed a love of skiing and other winter sports. While in Canada on a skiing trip with friends she met her husband Ben, the love of her life. They subsequently began their joint lifetime adventure, moving first to Delaware and then to Tennessee where Alexandra earned a BSN through Tennessee Tech University and continued her nursing career.
After retirement, Alexandra and Ben sought a place to settle where they could enjoy the activities they shared and loved. They were fortunate to find the beautiful city of Santa Fe. An important holdover from Alex’s childhood was a passion for horseback riding. Santa Fe offered her the opportunity to pursue her love of equestrian sport, focusing on jumping. She soon became a fixture within the local equestrian community and developed many sustaining friendships while competing with enthusiasm and collecting many awards.
She will be remembered by all who knew her for her spunk, smile, and genuine warmth even as she courageously faced the challenges of an unrelenting disease.
Alexandra is survived by her husband, Ben, her sister, Marion Robertson, her brother, William Kerr and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A memorial service will be held at Rivera Family on Jun 9.,2025 at 10 AM. Alexandra’s ashes will be spread in Scotland so she can return to her beloved place of birth. Donations in Alexandra’s memory may be made at Espanola Valley Humane Society.
