Allen Dunkerly Crawford was a beacon of resilience and joy who embarked on his final journey on August 11, 2025, in El Paso, having lived a rich and vibrant life since his birth in Houston on April 27, 1940. He was a man who embraced life's challenges with a smile and left a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to family and community.

He was the beloved husband of Caroline Ryan, with whom he shared a life full of laughter and adventure, and the cherished patriarch of his children, Mary, Anna, Ellen, Dolores, and James, as well as his stepchildren, Alicia and Carrie. The only living sibling, Jacqueline Marshall, remembers him as a source of unwavering support and inspiration. His deceased wife, Nellie Calderon, and his parents, Jackson and Myrtle, as well as his siblings Nancy, Byron, Bill, Thomas, and four others, preceded him in passing, but their memories live on through the stories he shared.

Allen's educational pursuits in real estate were testament to his belief in continuous learning and growth. He held several licenses, including those to sell timeshares, and his knowledge in the field was expansive. His work ethic was unparalleled; Allen was a jack of all trades who believed in the dignity of labor and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

As a devoted Christian, Allen's faith was the cornerstone of his life. It guided his actions and gave him strength in times of trial. He was a pillar in his community, often traveling to support a fellow AA member or his family whenever they needed him. His commitment to service was a true reflection of his generous spirit.

Allen's zest for life was contagious. He was an aficionado of bingo, horse races, and the thrill of the casino. His love for travel took him to many places, not just for work, but also in the service of others. He was the embodiment of the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Allen indeed succeeded, touching lives and spreading joy wherever he went.

His memory will be a guiding star to those he leaves behind. Allen Dunkerly Crawford's life story is a testament to the power of positivity, hard work, and the importance of family and community. He lived fully, loved deeply, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we celebrate his life, let us remember the lessons he imparted through his actions and the love he shared so freely. Allen's journey on earth may have concluded, but his spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those he touched.
