Annie Mae Todd was born on December 8, 1933, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Maurine (Johnson) and A.D. Fields Sr.
She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Mount Pleasant. In her early years, Annie worked as a beautician in Chicago, Illinois. She had a deep love for music and was a member of a gospel group. She received professional training in both vocal performance and piano. Later in life, she was employed by Jordan Home Health, where she worked faithfully for many years until she was no longer able to do so. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing the piano, listening to gospel music, and spending quality time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Thelma Todd-Frazier (Irvin Jr.) and Alton Todd, both of Mount Pleasant, Texas; her grandchildren, Rodney Todd (Kierra) of Mesquite, Texas, Dereck Fuller Jr. (Quineshia) of Dallas, Texas, Kendrick Davis Sr. (Kym) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sonya Johnson of Euless, Texas, and Gidget Elliott of Irving, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, D'Ashia Fuller, Carter Perry, Kennedi Todd, Khale Davis, Kalani Davis, Kamille Davis, Kendrick Davis Jr., and Londyn Davis.
She is also survived by her brothers, Lawrence Fields Sr. (Ashley) of Dallas, Texas; and her sisters, Essie Askew, Freddie Webster, and Peggy Gholston, all of Mount Pleasant, Texas; sister-in-law Mary Fields of Dallas, Texas. Special nieces Debra Lynn Fields, Angela Canton and Racheal Thompson; foster daughters Sheila Lewis (Harold) and Diane Barrett, both of Mount Pleasant, Texas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, special family friends Robby Baxley and Bobby Baxley both of Dallas, Texas; and friends.
