In Loving Memory: Austin Joseph Smith October 9th, 1986 – July 1st, 2025 A Celebration of a Life Well Lived
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Austin whose presence brought light, warmth, and inspiration to all who knew them. His journey on earth was marked by generosity, resilience, and a spirit that touched countless lives. As we reflect on his story, we are reminded of the simple acts of kindness and love that defined his character.
Born into a close-knit family, our beloved Austin was raised with values rooted in compassion, honesty, and a tireless work ethic. From a young age, he displayed a curiosity about the world, a thirst for learning, and an ability to bring people together. His childhood was filled with laughter in the family home-memories woven from family gatherings, shared meals, and the comfort of unconditional love.
He is survived by his Mother Cassandra Smith, his Father Eric Smith, his Stepfather Dale Dobie, his brother Taylor Dobie and Dez Ortiz, his daughters Makinley Wilson and Emberlyn Smith, his niece Nori Dobie, his Aunts Beverly Kelly, Felicia Salewsky and Kimberly Kelly, his uncle's Glenn Kelly and wife Cheryl Kelly, Fred Zinner and a bunch of cousins whom he loved with all his heart!
His passion for sports brought color and joy to his life and to the lives of others as a dedicated Dallas Cowboy, Houston Rockets and Houston Astros fan. His love of music was equally profound, whether attending concerts, or simply singing along at home with loved ones.
Perhaps most remarkable was his unwavering commitment to service. He understood the importance of giving back and devoted countless hours to Boots for Troops.
At the heart of his life was a deep love for family and friends. Family gatherings were highlighted occasions marked by laughter, storytelling, and the sharing of traditions. They celebrated milestones with joy and provided comfort through life's challenges.
His friendships were equally treasured. Loyal and steadfast, he maintained connections across years and distances, always making time for those he cared about.
Though his physical presence is now gone, the legacy he leaves is enduring. The lessons he imparted, the love he shared, and the difference he made in large and small ways continue to ripple through the lives of those who knew him.
In honoring his memory, we are called to live with greater compassion, to cherish our relationships, and to serve others with humility and generosity. His life reminds us that what matters most is the love we give and the lives we touch.
A celebration of their life will be held on July 12th at the VFW Post 8905 located at 21902 NW Freeway, Cypress, TX 77429 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM allowing friends, family, and community members to gather, share stories, and pay tribute to a remarkable individual. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a the VFW and/or Boots for Troops (URL's below), ensuring that his legacy of compassion continues.
As we say farewell to Austin, we do so with profound gratitude for the gift of his life as a full donor to Life Gift and the privilege of having known him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts-a guiding light, a source of inspiration, and a testament to the enduring power of love.
Rest in peace Austin!
