Barbara Jean Allen, 83, of Oak Hill, Florida passed away March 8th, 2025 at her home.
Barbara was born to Emmett Foster and Viola Davenport Foster in Fannin County, Georgia near Jacks River. She graduated from Fannin County High School and moved to Scottsmoor, Florida shortly thereafter.
Although Barbara and her husband, Jim, lived for a while on opposite sides of the same Georgia farm, it wasn't until they both moved to Florida that they met, married, had two sons, and started their family business. Barbara Jean and Jim owned and operated Allen's Service Station in Scottsmoor for several decades, where they served as pillars of their community and were committed friends to many.
Barbara's family and friends knew her as a quiet and kind woman with a sense of humor that would often pop out at just the right time. She loved to crochet and sew and enjoyed spending time working in her garden. She was a deeply loved wife, mom, Mamaw, sister, and friend and she will be missed by so many.
Barbara Jean was preceded in death by her son Raymond Allen and sister Joyce Foster Connor.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Jim Allen; son Russell Allen (Cathy); grandchildren Jacob Allen (Domonique) and Jessica Allen Hendricks (Robby); great-grandson Forest; siblings Emmett Foster Jr. (Anne), Ann Baker (John), Jimmie Foster (Bernice), Carolyn Call (Dan), Nancy Brooks, Joan Milton (Andy) and a multitude of loving family and friends.
All are welcome to come and visit with the family at a dinner to follow service at the Scottsmoor Meeting Hall 3724 Magoon Ave Scottsmoor Fl 32754
