With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Barbara Noel Browning, who departed this life on June 22, 2025, at the age of 78. A beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Barbara lived a life marked by creativity, resilience, and a deep devotion to her family.
Barbara was born on October 31, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Nolan Catholic High School in 1964 and soon began a life journey that took her to Nebraska for 23 years before returning to Texas in 2005.
Barbara filled her home with warmth, good food, and laughter. She delighted in cooking homemade meals, creating arts and crafts, playing cards and board games, and going on spontaneous shopping trips. She had a gift for finding the right words to lift someone's spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Browning, her mother, Noel Evans, and her father, Richard Evans.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and strength carried forward by her three daughters, Pam Hillery, Wendy Worrell, and Krista Horton. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Carla Crockett, and her treasured grandchildren and great grand-children: Joshua, Matthew, Nathan, Elsa, Claire, Levi, Braxton, Xzavier, Josiah, Aurora, Angelika, Damian and Eleanor—each of whom brought joy to her heart and smiles to her face.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and honor a life so beautifully lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Cookson Hills Children’s Home in Oklahoma, or to a charity of your choice, in Barbara’s honor. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Though she has left this world, Barbara’s love remains—woven into the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the memories that will be cherished forever.
