Carol Mitwede-Miller (nee Wiehr), age 91, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 13, 1934 in Plymouth, WI, a daughter of the late Edgar and Elouise (Peters) Wiehr.
Carol attended Plymouth Schools. On May 5, 1951, she married David Mitwede and started to raise her family of six children. Having a big family was always Carol's dream. Her family and home were everything to her. As the kids got a little older, she held several different full-time jobs in the Plymouth area. In her younger years, she was active in boating, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. There were many ice fishing excursions on Lake Winnebago with six kids in tow and she became an excellent 'fish cleaner'. She enjoyed boat trips on Lake Winnebago just soaking up the sun and also water-skiing. 'Up North' snowmobiling also brought relaxation for the well-deserved weekend away. In later years she took up golf and spent many winters in Texas where she even got a Hole-in-One three times! Carol was a very talented artist; her love of painting transcended all through her years. She always had something 'under her brush', whether it be oil on canvas, acrylic on wood or painting beautiful life-like porcelain dolls. She loved to cook and canning was a must during pickle and tomato season. Carol took great pride in her house and kept it very well maintained all by herself right up until her last day. In more recent years she looked forward to weekly shopping trips which always included lunch and possibly a ride through town or out in the country. Her birthday parties made her very happy as she was greeted by many relatives, close friends and neighbors. Carol lived life to the fullest and 'never let any grass grow under her feet'! Her memory will forever live on through her art.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Mike) Schuler, Steven (Janet) Mitwede, David Mitwede, and Lynnette (Steve) Marek; son-in-law, John Zimmerman; 10 grandchildren, Cindy Schuler, Timothy (Rachel) Schuler, Christi (Kevin) Williams, Greg (Kelly) Mitwede, Curt (Elisha) Mitwede, Angie Zimmerman (Berty), Jennie Zimmerman, Eddie Marek, Joe Marek, and Katie (Nick) Soja; 14 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jonathan, Taylor, and Nathan Doebert, Alexandria "Lexi" and Madilyn Mitwede, Kylee, Gavin, and Hudson Mitwede, Kira Johnson, Aidan and Liava Uscila, Lawrence Marek, and Maverick Soja; siblings, Bill (Sharon) Wiehr, Margaret Halle, and Larry (Barb) Wiehr; brother-in-law, Roger Lensmire; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, David Mitwede; her parents; daughter, Bonnie Zimmerman; son, Michael Mitwede; infant twin sister; sister, Marlene Lensmire; brother, Edward (Jean) Wiehr; and brother-in-law, Arvin Halle.
Visitation will be held on Saturday (May 17, 2025) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 12:00 PM-3:00 PM.
