Cesar Miguel Santivañez Gutierrez

April 5, 1947 – July 9, 2025

With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cesar Miguel Santivañez Gutierrez, lovingly known by his family as Miguelito, who returned home to his Heavenly Father on July 9, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 78.

Miguel was born on April 5th, 1947, in San Jerónimo, Huancayo, Peru, to Maria Elena Gutierrez and Miguel Francisco Santivañez. He proudly dedicated his career to public service as a Commander in the “Benemerita Guardia Civil del Peru”, where he was respected for his strength, integrity, and unwavering sense of justice. A man of profound faith, Miguel was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in many callings throughout his life. Whether in leadership or quiet service, he lived his testimony daily—with kindness, humility, and a deep love for the Savior. He had a passion for writing and spent many hours recording stories of his childhood in Peru

and the important experiences that shaped his life. These memories—thoughtful, funny, and heartfelt—are a treasured part of the legacy he leaves behind.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Yolanda; his dear mother, Maria Elena Gutierrez; and his children: Carlos (Catalina) Santivañez, Carla (Brian) Zobell, Eduardo (Maritza) Santivañez, and Karina (Randy) Anderson. Known lovingly as “Abuelito,” Miguel was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren who brought him endless joy: Valeria Santivañez, Estefania Santivañez, Carlos Santivañez, Brianna Zobell, Leonardo Santivañez, Ariana Santivañez, Kyle Anderson, and Lidia Anderson.

Miguel was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Francisco Santivañez, and by his first wife, Lily, with whom he shared many beautiful years and cherished memories. After 34 years apart, his reunion with Lily in heaven is sure to be a sweet and joyful one. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Rushton

View Stake Center, located at 4137 W Foxview Drive, South Jordan, Utah. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man who lived with purpose, faith, and love.
