A Time to be Arrive: Charles W. Thompson Jr. was born to Mr. CW Thompson Sr. and Mrs. Mary Emma Thompson on September 8, 1954 in Wilson, North Carolina.

A Time to be Educated: Charles was educated in the Newark Public Schools.

A Time to Work: Charles was a devoted taxi cab driver for a large majority of his adult life.

A Time to Love: Charles met the love of his life and best friend, Shirley Wilson, at the age 14. The two began dating exclusively when he was 16 and Shirley was 14. After being together for 14 years, Charles and Shirley wedded one another on February 18, 1983. This union produced 4 wonderful and dedicated children.

A Time to Leave a Legacy: Charles and Shirley had 4 wonderful and dedicated Gloria Wilson, Tony Wilson, Tonya Ervin, and Venus Wilson. Charles also had 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A Time to Depart: Charles departed this world on July 26, 2025 at 8:35am as his family remained dedicated to the end.

A Time to be Cherished: Charles was preceded in death by his father CW Thompson, his mother Mary Emma Thompson, and 2 sisters, Lois Williams and Pearl Williams. Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his wife and best friend, Shirley (Newark, NJ), his eldest child Gloria Wilson (Newark, NJ), his twins Tony Wilson (Newark, NJ) and Tonya Ervin (Mark, New York), and his youngest child Venus Wilson (Newark, NJ). Charles also leaves 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Charles leaves 3 brothers Bobbi (Ernestine, VA), Herman (Andrea, New Jersey), and Robert (Tanis, Georgia) and 3 sisters Maryland (Georgia) Brenda (New Jersey), and Joyce (North Carolina), and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
