Clarence "Sonny" Brown, Jr., 74, of Mt. Holly passed away on June 26, 2025. Sonny was a member of Mariposa Baptist Church. He was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. Sonny loved fishing, his family, and gardening. He was a 30 year employee at Walmart.
Sonny was born on April 6, 1951 in Charlotte, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Brown Sr. and Helen Helton Brown. Those left to cherish his precious memory include his wife, Sheila Brown; daughters, Brooklyn Brown, Emily Freeman, and Kimberly Huffman; three grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon, and Ashley; three great grandchildren; his sister, Judy Price; and his best pal, Scrappy dog.
The family would like to send out an extra special thank you for all the love and support from family and friends. Thank you for all the help and care-taking of Sonny during this time. We would like to invite you to celebrate Sonny's life with us on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Johnson.
