David Robert Moore, Jr
December 10, 1984-June 25, 2025
David Robert Moore, Jr., 40 of Wilson passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. His memorial gathering will be conducted Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson. Interment will follow at a later date, in a private, graveside ceremony officiated by Pastor Greg Barnes.
David was a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, building his life around those he cherished the most–his family. Working alongside his dad, his hero and biggest fan, “Little David” could always be found perfecting his craft at Moore’s Body Shop, lending a hand to a customer in need or advising one of his sisters on how to navigate their latest car crisis (and there were plenty). Always up for a road trip or a makeshift dance party in his living room with his wife and kids, David will surely be remembered as the most loving and loyal soul of this family. Perhaps one of the most special traditions that will always be cherished was his curious nature about what Mama was cooking for dinner and his nightly phone calls with his Dad and best friend, recalling the simplest yet most precious moments of each day. Oh, the celebration in Heaven will forever light up the night sky as Little David and his Uncle Aubrey harmonize until we all meet again.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Moore of Wilson and their precious children Lainey and Eyan; his parents, David Robert Moore, Sr. and Joanie Moore of Wilson; his sisters Betsy Berndt, husband Martin of Hubert and Amy Moore Watson of Wilson; his aunts Rachel Windham of Wilson and Peggy Warren of Autryville; his Uncle Eric Moore of Gibson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his loving in laws, Linwood and Joann Rollins of Wilson.
He was predeceased by his loving grandparents "Bud" and Marjorie Moore and Bill and Adell Windham and his beloved uncles, Aubrey Moore and Billy Windham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in David’s honor to support an educational fund for his children through Southern Bank can be directed to Amy Moore Watson.
