David Smith Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 28, 2025.
David Scott Smith of Warren passed away June 25, 2025 at the age of 54.
David was born on July 21, 1970 in Ticonderoga, New York. He was a both a helper and a fighter since childhood, David was one of the very few survivors of Stevens-Johnson syndrome in the 1970's. David graduated from Barstow High School June, 1988 and immediately enlisted in the US Army where he made lifelong friends. He has been a loving husband to Vickie O'Banion for over 24 years. David loved his music, beer and anything with an engine knowing just how to fix it as a master mechanic. He was the first call his children would make when they had a question. He had the most unforgettable laugh that would fill a room and absolutely despised anyone leaving a light on. His children will always remember "who's this light on for?"
David was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
David was a devoted son to Jeannine Welch; beloved husband to Vickie O'Banion; devoted father to Robin Lynn Meredith (William) Courtney Marie Bonomo (Vincent) and Michael Edwin Casey O'Banion (Sherry); adored grandfather to Chevy Lynn Stevens(Justin) Aiden Thomas Iacuaniello, Baily Marie Meredith, Andre Wayne Meredith, Stevie Marie Bonomo, Delilah Phontip-Casey O'Banion, and Joseph David Scott Bonomo; and great grandfather to Harlow Lynn Stevens and Roman Smith Parker; and cherished brother of Bonnie Giles (Hollis) and uncle to Joshua David Sherwin.
